Singapore-based precision engineering group Accuron Technologies has made a strategic investment in homegrown AI startup Innowave Tech, marking the group's first foray into AI-driven process intelligence for semiconductor manufacturing. The investment, made through Accuron's New Ventures arm ANVen, backs Innowave Tech's agentic AI platform that helps semiconductor fabs and advanced packaging operations automate production processes across the global chip supply chain.
Innowave Tech, headquartered in Singapore, develops purpose-built solutions that digitalise semiconductor and advanced manufacturing production data through proprietary edge AI hardware, algorithms, and software. Its IWave platform connects fab floor to cloud, delivering domain-specific AI methodologies tailored to the semiconductor industry — solving what the company describes as problems generic AI cannot address. The startup has established customer deployments across key semiconductor hubs including Southeast Asia, the United States, Japan, China, Taiwan, and Europe.
For Accuron, the investment is both a financial and strategic commitment. The group's portfolio includes semiconductor equipment companies that stand to benefit directly from tighter integration with Innowave Tech's process intelligence capabilities. "This is our first investment in AI-driven industrial technology, and we believe it is well-timed," said Edwin Chow, Deputy Group CEO of Accuron Technologies. "The semiconductor and advanced manufacturing sectors are moving towards intelligent, data-led operations, and Innowave Tech is addressing a real and growing need."
Why it matters for Singapore: This investment is the latest signal that Singapore's precision engineering and semiconductor ecosystem is integrating AI at the hardware level. With the government targeting advanced manufacturing as one of four national AI mission sectors, deals like this one between Accuron and Innowave Tech demonstrate how local capital and engineering expertise are combining to build competitive AI-native manufacturing tools — not just for Singapore's fabs, but for the global semiconductor supply chain.
