Airwallex, the Singapore-headquartered cross-border payments giant, has raised US$320 million in Series H funding at an US$11 billion valuation — up from US$8 billion in December 2025 — signalling strong investor confidence in its bet on artificial intelligence-driven finance. The round was led by returning investor Addition, with participation from Baillie Gifford, Hummingbird, QED Investors, T. Rowe Price, Hedosophia, Haun Ventures, Amex Ventures, and Washington University in St. Louis.

The fresh capital arrives as Airwallex charts an aggressive expansion beyond its core payments infrastructure into what it calls "autonomous finance" — AI-native systems that handle bookkeeping, forecasting, tax compliance, and even consumer wallet management. The company's annualized revenue has reached US$1.3 billion, processing US$287 billion in transaction volume as of March 2026, giving it the financial heft to pursue product categories that traditional fintechs have largely avoided.

Two new products anchored the announcement. The first, T:0 Platform, is an AI-native business finance tool currently in private beta that automates bookkeeping, forecasting, taxes, and compliance — essentially a full-stack financial operating system for enterprises. The second, Airi Wallet, moves Airwallex into consumer finance by integrating its one-click checkout capabilities into a broader personal finance platform with delegated payments, spend limits, and multi-currency support. Both products are built on AI models trained on Airwallex's cross-border transaction data.

Why it matters for Singapore: Airwallex's latest fundraise cements Singapore's position as Asia Pacific's leading fintech hub, demonstrating that locally-headquartered companies can command global-scale valuations. The company's pivot to AI-native finance aligns with Singapore's national AI strategy, which has prioritised financial services as a key sector for AI adoption. As Airwallex deploys US$320 million into product development, it will likely expand its Singapore engineering and AI research teams, adding to the city-state's growing pool of fintech-AI talent.
