Databricks has appointed former ServiceNow Singapore country manager Raymond Wong as its enterprise and public sector lead in Singapore, as the data and AI company scales its support for government agencies under the city-state's National AI Strategy.

Wong brings nearly 25 years of enterprise technology experience to the role, having previously served as ServiceNow's Singapore country manager and IBM's general manager for software in Singapore. His appointment comes as Databricks continues a rapid local expansion that has more than tripled its Singapore workforce over three years, with plans to move into a new 32,000-square-foot regional headquarters later in 2026.

Databricks' Singapore public sector customers include the Central Provident Fund Board (CPFB), GovTech, Singapore Customs, and Synapxe — the national health tech agency. Public case studies show GovTech migrated to the Databricks platform, while CPFB trained more than 300 users on Azure Databricks to support policy, operations, and service delivery. The company sees strong demand across financial services, telecommunications, and government as Singapore pushes ministries and agencies to adopt AI through NAIS 2.0.

Why it matters for Singapore: Databricks doubling down on public sector leadership signals that enterprise AI platforms see government as a growth market in Singapore's smart nation push. With NAIS 2.0 driving AI adoption across ministries, the need for specialised talent who understand both government procurement cycles and AI infrastructure is becoming a bottleneck — and companies are racing to fill it. Raymond Wong's hybrid experience across ServiceNow's public sector practice and IBM's software enterprise makes him a strategic fit for bridging that gap.
