Episode Six, a US-headquartered payments and ledger platform provider, has opened an AI centre of excellence in Singapore dedicated to building agentic capabilities for banks and fintech companies on its TRITIUM platform, deepening the city-state's role as a hub for AI-driven financial infrastructure. The centre will focus on developing AI tools that improve internal operations, streamline client processes, and accelerate onboarding and integration — with a particular emphasis on making TRITIUM's technical documentation and development tools accessible to AI agents through a production-grade Model Context Protocol (MCP) server, the same protocol Anthropic standardised for connecting AI models to external tools.

The initiative is supported by the AWS AI Springboard under Singapore's Enterprise Compute Initiative, administered by Digital Industry Singapore — a joint office of EDB, Enterprise Singapore, and IMDA. Episode Six already bases its Asia Pacific operations in Singapore, and this centre represents a deepening of that commitment. Daryn Griggs, Managing Director for Asia Pacific and Japan, noted that Singapore has become the natural home for serious work at the intersection of AI and financial infrastructure.

The development comes as Singapore's banks and fintechs prepare for a future where software agents initiate and settle transactions autonomously. Agentic payments — where AI agents handle everything from invoice matching to settlement — represent one of the most practical and high-value applications of AI in financial services. Episode Six's centre began operations in July 2026, with its first product expected in the fourth quarter.

Why it matters for Singapore: This is more than just another AI lab opening. Episode Six's MCP server integration means Singapore's fintech ecosystem will be among the first to have production-grade payment infrastructure that AI agents can interact with directly. As banks race to deploy AI agents across treasury, compliance, and customer-facing roles, having a payments platform that speaks their language gives Singapore-based fintechs a meaningful edge in Southeast Asia.
