SuperX and TFC Launch Singapore JV for AI Optical Interconnect

SuperX AI, the NASDAQ-listed Singapore AI infrastructure company, has launched a joint venture with Suzhou TFC Optical Communication to build a global ecosystem for AI optical interconnect. The JV, based in Singapore, has already rolled out 800G and 1.6T silicon-photonics optical modules aimed at AI supercomputing clusters worldwide.

SuperX AI, a Singapore-headquartered full-stack AI infrastructure provider listed on NASDAQ, has formally launched a strategic joint venture with Suzhou TFC Optical Communication to develop and commercialise optical interconnect solutions purpose-built for AI computing clusters. The JV entity, SuperX Optical Communications Pte. Ltd., is registered in Singapore with SGD 2 million in capital, signalling the city-state's deepening role in the global AI hardware supply chain.
The joint venture structure reflects a carefully balanced partnership: SuperX holds 45%, TFC's Singapore subsidiary takes 35%, and APEX VERVE LIMITED holds the remaining 20%. The multi-party board governance model ensures each partner contributes their core strengths — SuperX brings its full-stack AI server expertise and global client network; TFC contributes mature mass-production capabilities in high-speed optical devices, silicon photonics, and co-packaged optics (CPO).
The JV has already delivered its first products: the XOC 800G OSFP and XOC 1.6T OSFP silicon-photonics optical modules. Both use 1310nm CW laser technology, support transmission up to 500 metres over single-mode fibre, and comply with OSFP MSA Rev.5.0 and CMIS Rev.5.1 standards. Crucially, they feature deep compatibility with NVIDIA's next-generation CPO architecture, positioning the JV to serve the surging demand from AI data centre buildouts. The global AI infrastructure investment market is projected to exceed USD 470 billion in 2026 alone.
For Singapore, this deal reinforces the city-state's emergence as a hub for AI hardware innovation and manufacturing collaboration. The JV leverages Singapore's IP protection framework, trade connectivity, and access to both Asian and Western capital markets. SuperX's Singapore base means the company can navigate the complex export control landscape straddling the US, China, and Southeast Asia — a critical advantage when dealing with cutting-edge silicon-photonics technology that touches multiple regulatory regimes.
Why it matters for Singapore: The SuperX-TFC joint venture is a blueprint for how Singapore-based companies can capture value from the AI infrastructure boom without building semiconductor fabs. By acting as the neutral integration hub for cross-border optical interconnect technology — combining Chinese manufacturing scale with global market access — Singapore positions itself as the indispensable middleman in the AI hardware supply chain. For investors, it's a reminder that Singapore's AI story extends well beyond software and services into the physical infrastructure that powers the entire industry.
