TikTok has launched Mini Dramas and Mini Games alongside a suite of AI-powered advertising tools at the TikTok Apps Summit 2026 in Singapore, integrating its Dreamina Seedance 2.0 AI video model into the platform's creative suite.

TikTok has launched Mini Dramas and Mini Games — new on-platform experiences allowing users to discover, watch, play, and purchase content without leaving the app — alongside a suite of AI-powered advertising tools unveiled at the TikTok Apps Summit 2026 in Singapore.
The new formats tap into explosive growth in short-form entertainment. Short dramas recorded 2.26 billion global downloads in 2025, with downloads up 140 percent year-on-year in Q1 2026 alone, and Southeast Asia accounted for 32 percent of all global downloads with 220 percent year-on-year growth. TikTok is integrating its next-generation AI video model, Dreamina Seedance 2.0, into the TikTok Symphony creative suite, and introducing a Reference to Video feature that lets advertisers specify exact images and products at precise moments in AI-generated videos. The company also unveiled the TikTok Ads MCP Server, an interface enabling developers to build AI agents directly on TikTok's ad ecosystem, and TikTok Ads Skills for automating campaign creation and budget optimisation.
Yuke Hu, General Manager of Global Business Solutions for Southeast Asia and Japan at TikTok, said the app industry is entering a new phase as AI lowers development barriers, and that TikTok aims to help businesses connect discovery, engagement, and monetisation through platform-native experiences. Data from TikTok showed publishers scaling beyond Southeast Asia achieved twice the year-on-year revenue growth of those focused solely on the region. Publishers and developers can now launch mini-dramas and mini-games in approximately one month from registration, and the new Growth Max tool automates ad performance across the full marketing funnel.
Why it matters for Singapore: TikTok's decision to host the Apps Summit 2026 in Singapore — and to unveil major product innovations here — reinforces the city-state's position as ByteDance's regional nerve centre for Southeast Asia. With short-form video consumption in Singapore at 87 percent weekly penetration, these AI-powered tools will directly shape how local publishers, gaming studios, and advertisers reach audiences. The Dreamina Seedance 2.0 integration also signals that Singapore-based content creators will be among the first to access ByteDance's most advanced AI video generation technology.
