Adyen, the global payment platform with a significant Singapore presence, has launched an Agentic Commerce Suite designed to connect merchants to multiple AI shopping platforms through a single integration. The suite — which includes Agentic Feed for real-time product data, Agentic Cart for checkout and order management, and Agentic Payments for authentication and fraud controls — effectively decouples the commerce stack so merchants can plug into conversational AI channels without building separate integrations for each platform.

The product arrives as AI shopping agents are proliferating across major technology ecosystems. Adyen's suite is compatible with Meta's AI checkout, Google's Agent Payments Protocol, OpenAI's Agentic Commerce Protocol, and the Universal Commerce Protocol — a signal that the industry is coalescing around multi-protocol infrastructure rather than platform-specific walled gardens. Initial partners include Visa, Mastercard, American Express, and Salesforce, with early retail participants such as ESW, Scheels, Sézane, and SharkNinja testing the limited US release. Global expansion is planned.

For Singapore's fintech ecosystem, Adyen's move is significant on two levels. First, it validates the agentic commerce thesis — that AI agents will increasingly handle product discovery, cart management, and checkout on behalf of consumers — which aligns with Singapore's Smart Nation push toward autonomous digital services. Second, it creates an integration pathway for Singapore-based merchants and payment firms to participate in the AI commerce layer without needing to negotiate individual agreements with every AI platform. Adyen's regional headquarters in Singapore means local merchants are well-positioned to access the suite as it expands beyond the United States.

Why it matters for Singapore: Singapore is both a major fintech hub and a testbed for AI-driven commerce, with Shopee, Grab, and other regional platforms already experimenting with conversational commerce. Adyen's Agentic Suite gives local merchants and payment processors a ready-made integration path into the emerging agentic commerce ecosystem, reducing the risk that Singapore's e-commerce sector falls behind as AI shopping agents become mainstream. The open-protocol approach also aligns with MAS's preference for interoperable financial infrastructure.
