Equinix and Cisco have expanded their Singapore collaboration to offer the Cisco Secure AI Factory with NVIDIA inside Equinix's local data centres, giving enterprises a direct route from AI pilot to production without building infrastructure from scratch. The validated architecture combines Cisco's networking and security stack with NVIDIA accelerated computing inside Equinix's colocation ecosystem, targeting a critical gap in Singapore's AI readiness.
The initiative comes as Cisco's 2025 AI Readiness Index found that 83% of Singaporean organisations plan to deploy AI agents, yet only one in ten have networks flexible enough to scale on demand. The Secure AI Factory addresses this directly with built-in zero-trust controls, observability, and security across the full AI stack — from data ingestion to model inference. Equinix managing director Yee May Leong said the partnership helps organisations extend AI infrastructure from centralised data centres to distributed edge environments without ballooning operational complexity.
For edge deployments, Cisco Unified Edge brings AI capabilities to retail stores, hospital wards, and warehouses, where fleet management techniques can shrink data retrieval times from minutes to seconds. Organisations also gain access to Equinix's ecosystem of over 2,000 technology companies for testing configurations and assessing connectivity across data centres, cloud, and edge. Cisco ASEAN president Bee Kheng Tay described the offering as infrastructure that is simple, secure, and scalable — three attributes that remain elusive for many enterprises racing to deploy AI.
Why it matters for Singapore: The partnership directly supports Singapore's National AI Missions by providing secure, ready-to-deploy AI infrastructure for the finance and manufacturing sectors — two of the city-state's economic pillars. With 83% of local firms planning AI agent deployments but most lacking the network backbone to support them, having a pre-validated, secure architecture available inside Equinix's Singapore data centres removes a major adoption bottleneck. It also strengthens Singapore's position as a regional hub for enterprise AI infrastructure, giving multinationals a proven deployment model they can extend across Asia-Pacific.
